For years there has been a rule that protects referees and umpires from unruly coaches and players. Now a new rule implemented this year holds spectators and parents to the same standards. This means that fans can be tossed from games too.

There is nothing like playing sports in front of your fellow students and family and for a long time, because of the pandemic, local college athletes haven't been able to experience that. Now the governor has announced that spectators will be allowed in the stands at local college games starting this Friday.

It's still hard to believe that the Saratoga Race Course opens this week and there will be no spectators allowed. We all understand why, but it definitely will be weird. NYRA is implementing safety plans to make sure that those who try and come to hang out are deterred from doing so.
