This was yet another labor of love - to pay tribute to a living legend who is hanging up his pinstripes and retiring his number 2. It was a big moment in sports history without question. It deserved a song!
I guess my last blog got the conversation going on the morning show today, and it also spurred a parody idea. Audio from the show, a song and a video slideshow to follow
Golfin' ain't my cup of tea. Each time, it's a catastrophe. Hey - that rhymes! Maybe I can make a song out of that to promote the Sean and Richie Golf Tournament this coming Friday. Are you going?
Ask any wife and I'm sure she won't disagree that "a wife comes before a horse"but this actually is a quote from "Mr. Ed", a classic TV show from the '60's. It's quite fitting for the opening of Saratoga this weekend and a good starting point for Write A Song Wednesday.
Bennington, Vermont. Here is your little ditty. I wish I had more information. I know there has to be much more about your town but my rule is- I go with what you give me.
I did this one LIVE on the air, in real time (literally). The information was coming in "the day of" and I had no choice. Thank God for long songs this morning so I had time to write! Here is what I came up with, for better or worse!
Do you have a town that you are especially proud of? Come on - you must! Here's your chance to put it on the map on the Sean and Richie Show. It's Your Town Thursday!
I've done it before and am prepared do it again! I bought a new tent and canteen, so I'm all set. (Just kidding - all I bring is my keyboard and recording device). Why? I want to write a song with campers and air it on the Sean and Richie Show!
I have to say this is going to be a thrill - singing one of my songs right inside the Capital building. It's all part of an Anti "Common Core" rally this Tuesday.
Let me ask you a question. How can you POSSIBLY dislike visiting elementary schools in this area when you walk up to the front door and see something like this?
Thanks for that introduction, digital department! Yes, I will admit that I believe I have created a song that encompasses all of the elements contained in the current crop of "Bro Country" hits blasting out of your speakers lately. (Hey, you've got to be able to make fun of your own, right?)
