A new, national ranking claims New York has some of the best sledding spots in the entire country.

Winter is here and there is nothing more fun, in my opinion than finding the biggest hill and going sledding on. You can get some serious sledding in just two-and-a-half hours from the Capital Region at the Lake Placid Toboggan Chute.

This may look like a regular garden-variety unassuming plastic sled but I can assure you that it is far more than that. From snowbanks to sand dunes, happy customers have found so many inventive ways to use this little plastic powerhouse way beyond winter.

Mother Nature delivered and we got over a foot of snow. I have a seven-year-old who loves the snow both to shovel and to go sledding in. So that's exactly what we did.

Happy snow days are here again! We received a little taste of the white stuff over the weekend and with more expected in the next few days, it's officially sledding season.  Bundle up, and find a new gem of a place to go sledding in the Capital Region.

I love this time of year. There's something about the holiday season and the holiday spirit in everything that brings a smile to my face. Luckily, here in the Capital Region, there are a ton of things to do and in the next two weeks, I want to do all of them.

I think no matter what time of day you are being forced to trek out into our winter wonderland today, the roads most likely won't be very visible.  Steve Caporizzo's morning forecast said the winds are suppose to carry in to tomorrow and if they are anything like they were this morning, I think I may have been safer riding a horse to and from work.
