Given how this situation shook our community back in November, I'm surprised by the outcome from Friday when the jury came back after deliberating.

Tasheem Maeweather. The name might sound familiar for some and ingrained in the brain of others who were at Crossgates Mall back in November when gunfire rang out. Maeweather, the alleged shooter wasn't in custody until a couple of days after the shooting which left people concerned that danger was still looming. In December Maeweather was sentenced to 9-years in state prison by Judge Peter Lynch

As I sit here and write this, a cold bloodied killer is on the loose after shooting an innocent 74 year old man on Facebook Live over the weekend.  Enough is enough,  it's time for Facebook Live to step up, and shut it down.

November 12th is a day that'll stay with many in the Capital Region. Gun shots rang out at Crossgates Mall in front of the Apple store. People ran down the halls, hid in stores, held their loved ones and thought this might be the last chance to send an "I love you," text to family. It was something we had experienced on the news but never expected to have happen here, locally.

Albany police say an early Thanksgiving morning shooting left 1 dead and 3 injured.

UPDATE: News Channel 13 is reporting police have arrested 20 year old Tasheem Maewether for Saturday's shooting at Crossgates Mall.

New Channel 13 obtained video footage of shoppers and employees rushing out of the mall after Saturday's shooting.

The news started trickling in on Facebook just before 3 p.m. on Saturday of an alleged active shooter at Crossgates Mall.

State police are asking that anyone with information on an early morning shooting in Coxsackie contact them.

It's been buzzing the last couple of days that an Albany cop drew a gun and fired at a bank robbery suspect, in which that suspect had made national news when a local Wal-Mart fired him last year.

This morning we focused a lot about the terrible shooting in Orlando that happened over the weekend. It's hard for adults to discuss this sort of thing, let alone children.  They don't know how to process this sort of tragedy, so this morning we shared some tips for parents for talking to kids about big news events like this...
