There is something majestic when you can ice skate, snowmobile, snowshoe, or even walk on one of the beautiful bodies of water in the Capital Region. But as temperatures start to fluctuate, it is important to be reminded to be ready for anything when heading out on the ice. A woman was snowshoeing on Saratoga Lake and an alert neighbor happened to be in the right place at the right time.

I loved going up to Saratoga Lake as a kid. My grandparents had a small house there and we always had fun. It's nice to see that the area is still thriving. There are now plans for more development that will allow more people to enjoy Saratoga Lake.

A popular beach in Saratoga County will be shut down for at least the next few days while officials test E. Coli levels. The hope is that it shouldn't interfere with weekend swimming.

In 2018 a fire destroyed one of my favorite places on Saratoga Lake called Lake Local. Now under new ownership and a total transformation, a new restaurant and bar is opening. I am anxious to see the beautiful new establishment and we don't have to wait much longer.

"Flotilla of Feces" In Saratoga Lake Deemed False Alarm

Several sources have confirmed that the New York State Police are currently investigating circumstances that led to discovery of a body found on Saratoga Lake Friday morning.  While multiple sources have confirmed that the body was found  near the shoreline and in relatively "shallow water", we have yet to find out of foul play is suspected.

There is a video circulating through social media of an amusement park that we used to go to as a kid. The video is from 1985 and all of the rides, the swimming pool, and the basketball courts have me thinking about how much fun we had there as kids.

The fire that damaged Lake Local - the beautiful beachfront restaurant on Saratoga Lake - at the end of April was extinguished relatively quick and many of us here in the Capital Region were hoping they'd be open for business now that warmer weather has arrived.  Any hopes for optimism - and their delicious seafood - were dashed when the owners recently shared some bad news on their Facebook page.
