Dear Facebook Friends and WGNA listeners, I've gone back and forth on how to structure this post. Do I attempt to make it funny? Should I "rhyme it?" Naaaaa... Let's just cut to the chase. I have made a life-changing decision that I want to share with you...

Ok, let me explain. This was actually an event in Troy - The Victorian Stroll. Photos and backstory below.

What a class!  What a school!  What a teacher! What a great time! (I get excited when it goes as well as it did during my visit to Mrs. Brooks' class.)

Yes, it's true. I did a little digging and found out that this little side project started in 1995, so -I did the math and it hit me. WOW it's been 2 decades writing ditties with kiddies.

This is a song parody about the Ashley Madison Website scandal that I performed live on the air and we recorded video of this incident as it happened.   It features Dave Scriven on guitar.   I thought it might be interesting to show what it's like in the studio as it happens, so here goes.

And I loved them!  First graders CAN write great song parodies.  You might not think that would be possible, but you could see the "wheels turning" throughout the writing of this little ditty at the Mare Curie Institute in Amsterdam.  Want to hear it?  I knew you would!

It took me a few years to finish a song for this town.  I don't know what happened, but it was listener Amy Godfrey that brought this to light.  She shamed me into doing my job, I guess!  LOL  With that in mind, here's the completed song.

What a great time with this creative, high achieving group of 6th graders from Draper Middle School.  This is how they roll! (that statement will make sense when you hear this!)

That's right! The rhyming never stops.   I'm ready to put the bug spray on and write a song with your happy campers!

I had to update my original tribute to Sawyer Fredericks, as the first one wished him good luck in the finals.  Now that we've seen what has happened, I had to tweak this a bit, so here is Part 2!

This one was about 3 weeks in the making.  We've been just so busy traveling with the show to colleges and other places that I've had very little time to concentrate on Your Town Thursday songs. Time to get back to work!
