If you have ever been to downtown Cohoes you know that there is steeped history throughout. There is a legendary bar and restaurant that used to be the hangout for Albany County Democrats and is known for its beautiful 50-foot long mahogany bar. Smith's has been in existence since 1937 but was closed in 2020 due to the pandemic. Now it has new owners.

As Cohoes continues to rebuild after the devastating fire that ripped through downtown, the Governor has announced help for the local businesses and homeowners who have been affected.

As a resident of Cohoes and witnessing the devastating fire that happened on Thursday, it left myself and the entire Capital Region asking how we can help. Join us Monday as we kick off our Rebuild Cohoes Relief Effort.
