polar plunge

I always love getting involved and being part of great local fundraising events. I won't be jumping in Saratoga Lake but you can.

You're welcome ladies! Dierks Bentley took his shirt off during his annual polar plunge at a lake in Nashville on Friday. He was joined by a group of friends.  And it's a good thing they were there with him, because he forgot why they do it at all...

This one is not for the faint of heart, but it promises to be the hottest fundraiser in town (well, maybe that's the wrong choice of words, but it is for an amazing cause - Special Olympics of New York.  I had the chance to speak to one of the organizers of the event for our Capital Region Sunday program.  You can hear it below

A 22-year-old Hudson Falls man was on his way to the annual Polar Plunge in Lake George on New Year’s Day.

I have never really understood the need to jump into freezing water. It reminds me of skydiving, why would anyone want to jump OUT of a perfectly good airplane? I suppose the answer to both is the same, excitement and adrenaline.

I have always said that Dierks Bentley is so cool that you get cooler just by standing near him. The guy has a great, laid-back, "nothing bothers me" personality. I guess now we know how he stays so care-free, apparently he has a New Year's tradition of doing a "Polar Plunge" to insure he has a great year.
