We wanted to remind you of how we value patriotism here at 'GNA.  One way we're doing this is to have children of all ages recite the Pledge of Allegiance at 6 AM each weekday morning on the Sean and Richie show.

To celebrate Memorial Day we are featuring a special group of school kids from Schoharie Elementary.  Take a listen as they take turns reciting our Pledge of Allegience

Thanks once again to all the kids from the Birchwood Elementary School for giving up their time to record the Pledge of Allegience for us.  Their patriotism is most appreciated. For you folks who missed it, here are the "instant replays".

I can't decide here. Not sure about this, so I'll let you be the judge.  Should we be messing with the National Anthem, and if so - is this the way to mess with it?

Viewers were quick to call out Luke Bryan for appearing to check his left hand at moments during his performance of the National Anthem at the MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City, Mo. on Tuesday night. Now, the singer has come clean, admitting to have written “key words” down to ensure he did his best.

This is the most disgusting and depraved act imaginable - vandalizing gravesides.  When I read the headline, I was immediately incensed.  And then I read the whole article

How would you like to have your school aged child recite the Pledge of Allegiance on Today's Country 1077 'GNA?

There have been rumblings of this movement for years.  I can remember a boy who Witness I'd ever known who refused to say the pledge because of religious reasons.  OK, I can accept that. But this is quite another:

Memorial Day is a real feel-good event for patriotic Americans. It's a day for all flag wavers to hang OLD GLORY from your old front porch.  A symbol of freedom.  As in freedom of expression, right?  Well, you can't express yourself TOO MUCH.  Not in Crystal River,  Florida.  Someone's in trouble for hanging too many flags!

Are you really in shock that a pop diva butchered the National Anthem of these United States of America? You know, the same country that afforded this Disney Channel child star the chance to become a diva and make hundreds of millions of dollars, should at least expect the National Anthem to be sang "flub free".

Today on the show we played a montage of celebrities who had passed in the year 2010. A listener then pointed out on her Facebook that she was angry that we would do this, when the men and women of our armed forces die and their names don't get read on the air.
