Tonight could bring a spectacular northern lights display across New York and other northern states. Solar storms may push auroras farther south, giving skywatchers a rare chance to catch the show.
The Space Weather Prediction Center offered an optimistic forecast for the Northern Lights, saying a geomagnetic storm could produce an aurora borealis that may stretch above Upstate New York on Tuesday, March 4.
We were promised some of the strongest Northern Lights in 20 years and Mother Nature didn't disappoint. At least not in part of New York State where the skies weren't covered in clouds.
