They have been a staple on Fourth Street in Troy for eight years. The owners of Troy's Superior Merchandise Company have decided to close its doors. But they won't be gone forever.

The beginning of the school year can be very expensive with all the supplies and clothes that need to be purchased. Kids asking for school merchandise can add to the expense. Shenendehowa Central School District will open its first-ever temporary clothing thrift store this coming week.

State and county fairs are a big deal around the Capital Region and continue to be a lightning rod of sorts.  Most recently, a group is calling for all 52 county fairs across New York state to stop the sale and display of a symbol they say represents 'slavery, racism and hate.'  Surely you've seen them, are you personally offended?
