We had special guests on the Sean, Richie and Bethany Show this morning, and they were a great addition (and very into our High School Hunger Games competition)!
This is a kind of a neat opportunity - to actually do something of a serious nature for a change. And as for YOU, here's a chance for you to plug your upcoming charity event on multiple radio stations in our Townsquare family
We had a fantastic morning at the Hannaford Supermarkets on Wolf Road in Colonie for our Blue Friday fundraiser. I tried to take some photos, but I was a little busy. However this one was my personal favorite, and I think it speaks volumes
I found a few thought provoking quotes from famous folks about police officers, but more importantly, a reminder to help us support the families of cops killed in the line of duty. Our Blue Friday fundraiser is April 24th. Locations to follow
It's quickly become a WGNA tradition. It's been recognized year after year by the New York State Legislature. It's BLUE FRIDAY. This year we're announcing a new date for our fundraiser to raise money for the families of fallen police officers killed in the line of duty.
It always tugs at your heart strings to hear stories like this, but there is a fire department chief who has been diagnosed with colon cancer, and there's an important fundraiser to tell you about.
On Open Line Friday on the morning show we got a call from Becky Bowman about her daughter Kaitlin. They are raising funds for Kaitlin's care and for a playground in Corinth to be built in her honor.
I asked her to send me a message with info on a few fundraisers they are having, and I got this note from her:
Thank you all so much for helping to share Kaitlin's story...
I received this email yesterday, and of course wanted to immediately see if we could in any way help. It's a touching story, and funds are desperately needed.
