There's something different and powerful when you hear from a child that tells you how to help other kids. I sat down with my son, Ryan, and asked him about cancer, St. Jude and how he thinks we can all help. Here's what he said.

Day 1 of GNA's Country Cares for Kids Radiothon is in the books, and GNA Nation stepped up BIG TIME to fight childhood cancer.

In the next day or so, you'll hear a lot of numbers and a lot of statistics, and most of them will be positive. Numbers of Partners in Hope, numbers of phone lines lit with good people like yourself making generous donations, numbers of children's lives saved every year with the research provided by the angels at St. Jude.  I hope we raise 200,000 dollars by the end of our WGNA St. Jude Children's

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is an amazing place full of hope and promise. Inside is a wall that illustrates the "ABCs of Cancer". It is a child's perspective about what cancer is to each child.

Over the weekend, I took my 3-and-a-1/2-year-old son Brody to play in the snow at Albany's Washington Park.  It was his first time out in the snow with me, like really playing.  It was a week of firsts for him, but it needed to be a week of firsts for me as well.  I needed some perspective, and I found it this morning.

What they learn from kids battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses is life-changing.

Our St. Jude Wall of Hope helps bring attention to and honor our audience for becoming Partners in Hope during the 2019 St. Jude Country Cares Radiothon presented by Dom's Pizza, Subs and Wings.

Since my first time visiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I could tell this was something different. I was only there for a few days but its message and power have followed me since, especially thanks to Tyler.

The next 2 days are going to be quite a ride. They will be emotional, powerful, sad and a wonderful thing will be accomplished because of you.

We will once again celebrate all of our St. Jude Partners In Hope with a special show at Upstate Concert Hall.

"Everything we read said that we would take our baby home and just wait for his disease to progress — that he would die."

Owen wanted to launch a campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and he hoped that the country music industry would join him in rallying behind the cause. Did they ever.
