When we heard about the tragedy out of Schoharie, we were all looking for ways to help the families. A local 12-year-old came up with a way to involve the community in his efforts.
Yesterday, I was hoping to find a house in the Capital Region that would put Clark Griswold to shame and according to WTEN, there's a local house that's done it and is going to be featured on TV.
This time of the year, I love driving around the Capital Region. Watching for the Christmas lights of all different types.
We all have a favorite style of light. Do you
On Tuesday morning, an off-duty Hudson Police officer was stopping by his mom’s house when he saw something that wasn’t right.
If you've looked at your neighbors house and felt like maybe they over did it with Christmas decorations and made you look less then festive, it could be worse. It's not even December yet and someone's light display has already hit YouTube and it's set to Psy "Gangnam Style".
I don't know about you but I have already seen the Christmas lights up on various houses around my neighborhood. I am not even close to even thinking about putting my tree up! If you are like me though, you also start to feel a little tinge of guilt every time you see someone else has gotten their decorations up first.
I hate putting up the Christmas lights, not so much the tree and indoor stuff, it's the outside decorations that are tough. Seriously, I'd love to find the first person who started this tradition and punch him right in the nose. I guess that would clearly be lacking in the spirit of the holiday though.
So my boss and WGNA afternoon personality Jake Thomas, sent us a text message right after I played this bit, "Ostentatious Christmas", on the air this morning. He has now renamed me Rhymin' Grinchie for my criticism of neighbors who go overboard with their holiday decorations.
