A mudslide on Brunswick Avenue occurred not long ago and destroyed multiple homes there.

Miraculously there were no fatalities in the wake of the destruction. The homes had residents in them listening and watching storm coverage. 2 small children were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure but were reported to be OK.

As a result the mudslide is expected to continue there for a few days as a result of the instability of the ground. There awas a strong smell of gas reported on the area, and National Grid crews were responding the the scene.

Hiland Avenue has been evacuated as fire officials are expecting more slides down the hill toward Brunswick Avenue which are expected to claim more homes over the next couple of days.

Just behind that scene reports of propane tanks floating down the stream were reported as well. WTEN has more on this situation.
