
Montgomery County Plane Crash Reported This Weekend! You See Anything?
What were you doing Saturday July 30th? Were you in Montgomery County? Anywhere near Palatine, NY? If you were in that area, did you notice anything unusual in the air or on land?
These may appear to be unusual questions however New York State Police are investigating reports of a plane crash in the area and that investigation is still pending. Here's what we know, according to the New York State Police Newsroom. Around 12 noon on Saturday July 30th New York State Troopers in Fonda got word that a plane had crashed in the town of Palatine and that injuries were expected.
State Police arrived at the scene of the Palatine plane crash, which is said to be near Eaker Road. Initial observations revealed that a privately owned single-engine airplane experienced some kind of mechanical issue not long after takeoff.
First responders report that the pilot sustained what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and was air lifted to Albany Medical Center by by LifeNet of NY helicopter. In addition to State Troopers, Federal Aviation Administration, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office St. Johnsville EMS were onsite to assist.
