When you think about a family doing things together, you probably don’t think about this.

A man and his two sons, all from the Mohawk Valley, were arrested after an investigation of about 30 burglaries.

In a story that I read in The Times Union, the burglaries happened in four counties - Schoharie, Montgomery, Herkimer and Otsego Counties. A father and his two sons were arrested for allegedly stealing several items including a chainsaw, wood splitter, guns and more.

The father that was arrested is 56-year-old John D. Mickels. He’s from Sprakers. His sons, also allegedly involved in the crime spree are 32-year-old Joshua D. Mickels from Fort Plain, and 29-year-old Jonathan E. Mickels from Middleburgh. All three family members have been charged with Felony Counts of Second Degree burglary and also Fourth Degree Grand Larceny.

It’s possible that there could be more people involved. Authorities are still continuing an investigation.
