Thanksgiving Flight Canceled Today? This Hotel Giving Free Rooms
Nobody likes an unexpected layover, especially the day before Thanksgiving. When a holiday flight gets cancelled or delayed, not only are you losing family time, it’s also a logistical (and expensive) nightmare to find a hotel on a day when so many are booked up by other travelers.
2022 has already seen an 11% increase in delayed or cancelled flights from pre-COVID numbers. It’s a recipe for holiday headaches and heartbreak on the biggest flying day of the year. But now some New Yorkers who get stranded can get a free hotel room.
Hotel Home For The Holiday
If you’re flying out of LaGuardia and experience a flight cancellation or delay on Wednesday the 23rd, Wyndham Hotels and Lowe’s (yes, the home-improvement store, not the hotel chain – that’s Loews) have teamed up to make an unexpected layover a little easier.
The pair have teamed up to put ten Holiday Home Layover rooms in the Wyndham Garden LaGuardia South. The hotel rooms are fully decked out for the holidays courtesy of Lowe’s, including wreaths, lights, and a full-size Christmas tree in each room.
If your flight out of LaGuardia gets cancelled or delayed overnight, the first ten travelers to register on the Holiday Home Layover site will get a free night’s stay and a little extra worry off their plates. You’ll have to submit proof of your unlucky plans to stay in the hotel. Wyndham and Lowe’s are also offering the same free lodging at LAX, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas-Ft. Worth, and Miami International.
