Americans are experiencing a heightened sense of awareness, anxiety and concern as we enter the final quarter of 2024. From the tragic results created by hurricane Helene to the intense battle for the Presidency it's no wonder we are on edge.

With that in mind, be advised, New York State Police will be conducting a live training drill in Albany on Saturday October 5th at the Capital Building, Legislative Office Building and Empire State Plaza. This is only a drill.

As a result of today's New York State Police training drill there will be a closure of both the Capital Building and the Legislative Office Building as well as parts of the Empire State Plaza concourse.

You may see an increased police presence but there is no threat to the public. The timeline for today's training drill has not been revealed as of yet.
