New York State Troopers Stop Man For Oversized Load, You Won’t Believe This
How many times have we seen that guy traveling along Main Street with a mattress on the roof of the car and his left arm out the window holding on to the mattress for dear life? Transporting a mattress with your car is legal but you will get stopped if it isn't secure.
I can see taking a chance with a mattress on the roof or perhaps a lawnmower sticking out of your trunk. Not the best ideas but I understand the attempt. What I wouldn't suggest is loading 12,000 pounds of junk like this New Yorker did. You have to see these pictures to believe it.
On Monday July 22ns, according to a post on the New York State Police Facebook page, officers from Troop F noticed a vehicle that looked like a rolling mountain. A truck carrying a "heavy load" would be to underestimate things. We aren't talking about a dump truck or an 18-wheeler, this is a pickup truck.
New York State Troopers stopped a white pickup truck in the town of Suffern, NY because it appeared the truck's suspension was "sufferin'". This particular truck is rated for 7,050lbs but was found to be carrying 11,650lbs! Take a look at these pictures!
Take a close look. This guy loaded a dumpster onto his pickup truck, which is impressive enough, but he added a cargo carrier and overloaded that! He must have been pretty confident in those bungee cords. The truck was placed out of service for exceeding his tire weight rating.
