Beware New York, Serious Lounge Chair Recall After Finger Amputation
New York residents need to beware of a lawn chair recall after a consumer's finger was allegedly amputated while trying to adjust the lounge chair. This product has been available for purchase through Amazon and other outlets since August of 2023.
That first sentence sent shivers up my spine. A consumer's finger was amputated? I have pinched a finger when attempting to close an umbrella but I only had to pretend that it didn't hurt for a minute. I can't imagine losing a finger while adjusting a lawn chair. Here's what to look for.

According to a press release issued by Gigantex, there is a voluntary recall of Giantex outdoor lounge chairs in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The Subject Products have a design defect that allows consumers to place their fingers in a pinch point when adjusting the chair, posing an amputation hazard. This recall applies to Model Number:NP10025NY(GT10025-NPSA) pictured below.
If you have one of these chairs you should stop using the lounge chair immediately and contact Giantex by email at support@giantex.com, by phone at 844- 242-1885 or directly on Amazon to get a full refund. Here are the steps to take for a full refund:
- Immediately stop using the lounge chair
- Confirm your chair is part of the recall by checking the model number printed on the front and side of the packaging, or by contacting us at 844-242-1885 or support@giantex.com and providing information about your chair.
- Destroy the lounge chair by detaching the headrest pillow and cutting the fabric.
