Yankees’ Fans, Check Out This One-of-a-Kind House in Upstate New York!
New York Yankees' fans just barely missed their opportunity to own a famous "Yankee House" in Upstate New York.
This house, which sits at 65 Geneva Street in Lyons, NY, was built in 1890, and for most of its existence, was owned by John Salone. Per a story from The Democrat & Chronicle, Salone's house was filled with countless Yankees-themed decorations, which earned the house the moniker "The New York Yankee House" among locals.
Here's more on the house:
A pair of the famous interlocking “NY” logos with a conspicuous “1” carved into them hang symmetrically between the three upper-level windows. (The “1” is a nod to the team’s preeminence.)
Painted above the attic window is a “27” for the number of World Series championships the team has won. The porch is wrapped in blue turf. The team logo speckles the mailbox. From some angles, the white cedar shake siding makes for an optical illusion of pinstripes. - The Democrat & Chronicle
Per Zillow, the house was listed for sale on October 25, 2023. The original asking price for the house, which is roughly 134 years old, was $35,000 at the time. Sadly, Yankees' fans missed their opportunity to purchase this piece of local history, as the house was sold on January 1, 2024.
The final sale price was $20,000.

Despite the sale being finalized, photos of the house still exist on Zillow. So, we grabbed a few of those photos, and have included them below.
The house itself is a single family residence, which sits on a 2,613 sqft lot in Lyons. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a full basement. Interior features include a Ceiling Fan(s), Entrance Foyer, Eat-in Kitchen, Separate/Formal Living Room and more.
That said, the previous owner warned prospective buyers that the need for a complete rehab and absence of utilities should be taken into account.
