Country music has been around for a long, long time. However, a genre being in existence for more than a century doesn't always equate to a lot of content.

Lucky for us, country music is different.

See, country music is all about storytelling and let's just say, there's much to be told about his little journey we call life. Those stories have turned into thousands of albums that line the shelves of country music's vast library. These collections are filled with heartbreak, joy, love, loneliness, celebrations, hope — you name it!

When Do Country Artists Release New Albums?

In modern county music, singer-songwriters release new albums every two to three years, on average. Back in the day, however, it was not uncommon to see a new project arrive each year — sometimes twice a year.

Barbara Mandrell, Mickey Gilley, and Ronnie Milsap are just a few artists who would do an album dump every so often, thus racking up their project totals.

For our list below, we opted to stick with studio albums only. There are plenty of other collections we could have included, like live albums, compilations projects, holiday offerings and more. Had we included all of those, you've been scrolling through this list for days.

There's something to be said about studio albums: They're honest and true to the artist. It's their work in a booth, crafting the perfect soundtrack to the stories they are telling.

We also set the minimum at 20. Honestly, we could have set it at 30 and still had a substantial number of candidates!
