Live from The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, George Strait has announced that he is ready to retire from the road.  Although he is not retiring from making music, he will embark on a Farewell tour in 2013-2014.

George Strait says that over the next two years he will tour across the nation one final time with 20 dates in 2013 and 20 dates in 2014.  "It's been a hard decision for me to make, but as far as the touring goes, I have decided that I am not going to tour anymore, after these next two years. Don't think I'm retiring, because I'm not. I still am going to make records."

The No. 1 Country Hitmaker of all-time admits that it was always in the back of his mind that when he turned 60, he would consider retiring from the road, claiming "I just don't want to go to the point where I show up and nobody else does, you know?." 'The Cowboy Rides Away Tour' will feature Martina McBride and other guest performers.  The tour will kick-off on January 18, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas.
