With Memorial Day Weekend approaching, Fort Ticonderoga offers a timely opportunity to connect remembrance with the lived realities of the Revolutionary War.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 23–24, Fort Ticonderoga will present a special REAL TIME REVOLUTION® Memorial Day Weekend experience that invites visitors to do more than remember the fallen, but to better understand what sacrifice looked like in May 1776 at the fort where the Revolution was fought and defended. Programs run both days from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As part of Fort Ticonderoga’s America 250 commemoration, the weekend will bring the Continental Army of 1776 to life through immersive living history, weapons demonstrations, music, labor, and daily soldier experiences. A particularly powerful moment for coverage will take place on Sunday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m., when Continental Army soldiers conduct a Revolutionary Funeral Procession honoring one of their own in a solemn, historically grounded ceremony centered on the human cost of the Revolution.

This event also offers strong visuals and broader audience appeal beyond the commemorative programming, with activity happening across Fort Ticonderoga’s 2,000-acre historic landscape including guided tours, narrated boat cruises, historic trades, living history programs, weapons demonstrations, fife & drum performances, museum exhibitions, the King’s Garden, Mount Defiance, and the Carillon Battlefield hiking trail.
