Capital Region Foliage Update: Near Peak Colors This Weekend
If your power is still out, have no fear: you will want to be anywhere but inside your house on Saturday.
It has been a crazy week here in the Capital Region after Wednesday's storm and the subsequent power outage which is still happening for many. Well, here is some great news: between the brilliant fall colors and a beautiful forecast for Saturday, you won't want to be stuck inside your powerless home. The Weather Channel says it will be mostly sunny and 76 on Saturday, and the fall colors are looking just as amazing as that forecast.
The I LOVE NY foliage tracker says the Capital Region is mostly near peak or at peak colors this weekend. Saratoga Springs, Cohoes Falls and Thatcher Park are among the destinations I LOVE NY recommends for some prime leaf-peeping this weekend. Plus, looking at the I LOVE NY foliage map Lake George is looking like it is right at peak as well if you would also like some water views to go with your reds, yellows, and oranges.
As we wait for the hard-working National Grid crews to get our last few neighborhoods back online with power, you could not find a better excuse to get away from your home and not worry about that power for a day.
