It's currently 96 degrees as I write this and I truly don't know what any of us would do without proper working A/C on stretches of weather like what we've experienced the last few days. Programs are still available for those in need of cooling assistance, including a free air conditioner.  It's part of the Home Energy Assistance Program and you may qualify for the assistance.

According to News 10 ABC, you may be eligible if you are living below the poverty line, have a medical condition that is exacerbated by the heat, you don't have working air conditioning or the one you have is 5 years or older. With this Capital Region heatwave not offering up and much relief for at least a few days, it's worth taking a look to see if you qualify.  Visit the health department's website for more information.

Summer is less than a few weeks old and it's already shaping up to be a scorcher.
