As a lifelong Town of Colonie native, I was asked by a new employee here at the station to tell her about my hometown. I rattled off a few things that prove I have never left this beautiful town. Like, "You know you're from Colonie IF you still mourn the closing of L-Ken's."

You know you're from Colonie if you've ever argued about who's better, Shaker or Colonie High.

You know you're from Colonie if you've enjoyed a pie from Grandma's.

You Know you're from Colonie if you drive down Appleblossom every Christmas to see the lights.

You know you're from Colonie if you remember the "Mohawk," "Northway" and "Latham Circle" when they were malls.

You know you're from Colonie if you correct people who call parts of it Albany.

You know you're from Colonie if you've ever needed a ride to leave The Heritage.

You know you're from Colonie if you went on a date at Guptil's or Secrets when you were younger..."TWO TWO WATER CANNONS...NO NO DRESS CODES!!!"

You know you're from Colonie if you add "North" or "South" to Colonie when people ask, "Oh, you're from Colonie?"

Let me know what I forgot and share how you know you're from your own hometowns in the comments too.
