As I write this, I find myself both sad and truly worried. WGNA'S Shop With A Cop, a concept we announced a week ago is not doing as well as I had hoped. While everyone has told me what an incredible concept it is, and how much good we can do for some deserving children who need a little Christmas and a good experience with police officers, the actual donations that we so desperately need are slow in coming in. In my estimation, far too slow. I feel like this is my fault, perhaps I am not getting the message across well enough. I know that it is hard to start something new and that we are all so very busy this time of year, I will try much harder. I also sure could use YOUR help.

We need donations and we need help getting the word out about this great idea. If you could do either I would love it. If you could do both I would be overjoyed. If you would like to make a donation all you have to do is stop by any CapCom location or even bring your donation to the WGNA Studios at 1241 Kings Road in Schenectady.

If you want to help me get the word out tell all your friends and co workers that once we collect this money, the local law enforcement agency will find families that truly need and deserve a "break" this holiday season and actually shop for a present with a child from that family. Then we will give a gift card to the parents so that they too can shop and help SANTA get some presents to the kids.

We have been fortunate to have support from the wonderful people at Crossgates Mall and many law enforcement agencies including the Schenectady and Rensselaer Sherriffs Departments who are also sponsors.

All we need now is YOU.

What do you say, do you think you could step up and make a donation today, or even share this post with your friends? Can you help us make a difference this year? Thank you so much for anything you can do.
