There's a scientific study for everything these days.  The latest comes from a group of intellectuals who studied, of all things - ear worms (songs that you can't get out of your head)   Here were the results.

According to the study by Musicologists at the University of Amsterdam (via Newser.com) here's the list.  Let's start at the bottom of the top 20.  Coming in at #20 is Elton John's Candle In the Wind,

A random sample of people recognized it in 39 seconds.

I'll now jump to number one, and you can see the whole list to follow.   It only took 2.29 seconds for the average person in their sample to recognize THIS song

Do you notice what's missing?  Country songs.  Come on - if you played the beginning of "Friends In Low Places", for example - don't you think you could get people to recognize it in 2.29 seconds?

What country songs do you think should be on this list?  Would love to know
