A woman was saved from am alleged suicide attempt in the Mohawk River in Amsterdam. This happened not long after midnight, this morning.

In a story from the Times Union, police were called to the river. That’s when they saw a man, Joseph Constantine, who was fishing, holding onto the hand of a woman in the river. Two police officers and Constantine pulled the woman out of the water. She was then taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, and is expected to survive.
