According to a story from the Times Union, Troy Police Officers Sean McMahon and Brian Strock saw the 46-year-old woman in the river. She was hanging onto a hose next to the Captain JP cruise ship. The woman was tossed a life preserver by Officer Strock, but instead ended up going under the water a couple of times.

The other officer, McMahon jumped onto the ship. That's when he tossed her a rope and talked her into letting go of the hose, and grab the rope. He then pulled her safely onto the ship.

In records from the U.S. Geological Survey, the water temperature of the Hudson River was about 48 degrees, which is cold enough to cause hypothermia. Fire department paramedics treated the woman at the scene. She was then taken for evaluation of mental health.

Let's hope the woman is taken care of, and gets the help that she may need.
