I guess the uglier the better when it comes to  apparel. In some cases it's a competitive sport to see who has the most hideous fashions in town. With that in mind, we were privileged to attend an Ugly Tie contest at our good friends, the Schulmans' this weekend, in conjunction with Mike Schulman's birthday.

But I digress.  Here were the clear winners of the Ugly Tie Olympics

I had to untie mine (it was choking me)  so I guess I was disqualified.  Oh well...

Don't discount putrid fashions, by the way.  It's becoming a HUGE business and making people very wealthy, according to an article at Newser.com.  Feel free to read more about it, if you're into such things. (Just look in my closet and you'll see that I should have at least PLACED in this contest, but I'm not jealous)

I'm very happy for these clear-cut winners.  So glad it didn't end in a ……tie.  (groan)
