Wilton State Trooper Struck By Car And Killed

New York State Tropper Timothy Pratt passed away this morning after being hit by car while assisting a motorist on Ballard Road.

The accident happened in Wilton this morning. Officer Pratt was assisting a tractor trailer disabled in the median on Ballard Road. Officer Pratt was taken to Saratoga Hospital with life threatening injuries. He was then flown to Albany Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.  Many State Police officers went to Albany Medical Center to show their concern and support for Tropper Pratt.

Pratt was crossing the road to help the driver of the truck parked in the median safely exit his vehicle and cross the road when he was struck by a silver SUV.

Trooper Pratt was a 30 year veteran of the Wilton State Police. He is survived by his fiancé, daughter and two sons. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
