As we were honoring our local graduates, I stumbled across this photo that I wanted to share with our Country Music fans. This just isn't a picture that you'd imagine seeing anywhere in the history books!

At first, I wondered if this was Willie Nelson's Halloween costume, or maybe he got lost in a 'cloud of smoke' and wandered into someone else's graduation party.  The truth behind this awesome photo is that Willie Nelson did receive an honorary doctorate from Berklee College of Music. In May 2013, the "finishing school for talented young musicians,"  honored Nelson and invited him to perform at Boston University's Agganis Arena for the class of 2013's annual Commencement Concert. Nelson was joined by Kris Kristofferson, backed by a student orchestra.  The night also featured fellow honoree Carole King.

It's no secret Willie Nelson is loved and appreciated for everything he does to make the world a better place- from rescuing slaughtered horses, pushing Bio-Diesel fuel, promoting organic home-grown food, to supporting human rights and gay marriage equality. As if he needed to do one more thing to impress us, Nelson brings Farm Aid to our own hometown of Saratoga Springs, New York on September 21, 2013.

Congratulations to Willie Nelson and I hope you enjoyed this photo as much as we did. Nelson is an inspiration to all!
