The man who played Captain Kirk will be boldly going where he most likely has not gone before.

If you are a Star Trek fan, you are well aware of the recreated Star Trek Original Series Set Tour in Ticonderoga. And now the man who made Captain Kirk famous will be checking out the set himself. According to the Times Union, William Shatner will visit May 4-5.

The Set Tour website says 'Trek Superfan' James Cawley created replicas '...using the original blueprints, hundreds of hours of serious research and thousands of photographs.' The sets are even licensed by CBS!

Cawley told the Times Union Shatner has not been on the Star Trek set since the show was cancelled and said '...it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event. And how cool is it that it’s happening in upstate New York?” Other stars from the classic show have already visited the set, including George Takei.

Shatner will be available to meet fans, take photos and sign autographs during the visit. If you wold like to attend the weekend's festivities, you can get more info here.
