Anywhere I go these days I hear the anger of upset New York Yankee fans as they watch the Bronx Bombers collapse before their eyes coming down the stretch. The pitching is coming apart at the seams, and the bats are quiet as the Yankees keep dropping games and are in a literal free fall. Last night they dropped a game to Tampa Bay with a 5-2 final score. Tonight the battle the Rays again at 7:10pm. You can hear the game on our sister station 104-5 The Team.

They are in a dead tie for first in the American League East now with the Baltimore Orioles. The last time I saw the Orioles in first or even a tie for first this late in the season Earl Weaver was their manager. I know many of you just said "Earl who?" Yes, it's been that long.

The Yankees have lost 7 of their last 10 games. If they miss they playoffs it will rank up as the biggest collapse in Major League Baseball since my beloved Atlanta Braves pulled off a massive choke job coming down the stretch last season.
