One thing I learned when I was away from the Capital Region for a few years - do not take our apples for granted. Yeah, it sounds silly, I know. But you can go to a lot of places where that fall feeling just isn't the same and our orchards are a big part of what makes that work. Of course, it doesn't end there.

Apples are just part of what makes the Capital Region the Capital Region. Everyone grows up loving apple cider, especially in the fall months. But when you grow up, it's time to graduate to the next level. New York is home to dozens of hard ciders and that wonderful apple goodness only gets better with age. Any kind of food or drink that has apples as a main component will always remind of home and cider is no different.

If you're like me and want to have a little taste of home, head up to Saratoga Cider Night tonight. There will be over 30 cideries present, so you can make the call about who makes the best.
