Guido Barilla sparked international outrage when he said he’d never feature a gay couple in ads for his products — adding that if homosexuals don’t like it, they can buy another brand.

Whoa, dude! Come on!  Not only is that offensive, but haven't you noticed in the past, companies who "come out" against homosexuals never, ever get good press!  You're asking for trouble!

“Ours is a classic family where the woman plays a fundamental role,” Barilla, 55, said, adding that if gays “like our pasta and our advertising, they’ll eat our pasta. If they don’t like it, then they will not eat it and they will eat another brand.”

And, that they will!

In fact, thousands of people are now boycotting the brand - some are even throwing away all of the pasta in their cupboards!

Here's the thing - there are a lot of hungry people here in the Capital Region!  So, I encourage you to get rid of that hate-filled pasta, but maybe instead you could bring it here to the WGNA studios and I'll personally take it to the food bank!  Don't waste it!  Let's take a little bad and turn it to good!

I'll set up a box in our lobby on Kings Road in Schenectady, and if you'd like to, drop off your Barilla and I'll deliver it to the local food banks!
