I guess that's what they're trying to decide as we speak, and according to a recent news article, it will be sometime next year before they can really get a look at the design for the the Rivers Casino sign.  More below.

According to the Times Union.com they will eventually be erecting an 80 foot sign that will direct folks to the brand new RIVERS CASINO.

They already have 2 mockups for the sign.  You can see a picture of it on the TimesUnion site.  Some already think that it's too gaudy.

Whatever one they choose will go right on the Erie Boulevard site.

At least the size of it has been approved.  It will be 80 feet tall no matter HOW ugly or pretty it is.  Do you have any design ideas?  Wouldn't that be a great contest for the city?

Hey - idea! Maybe you could have photos of famous gamblers on it, like  Kenny Rogers or maybe-um- Pete Rose? The Rat Pack?  Naah.  We have to get more contemporary.  I looked up the most famous celebrity gamblers and I found 10 - you can check them out here at TheMost10.com.  They include Pamela Anderson (?), Michael Jordan!, and 50 Cent (who reportedly bet $500,000 on a game between the Giants and the 49ers!  Maybe he's only got 50 cents left!

What do YOU think the sign should look like?
