I'm not sure we want to know this answer. But according to the Times Union, what is lurking underground  in the proposed gambling casino site on the banks of the Mohawk could make your stomach turn

According to the Times Union.com,  when they first presented a proposal for this shiny, swanky new Schenectady casino to the State Gaming Facility Board, they  might have omitted one slight fact -

(Underground in the proposed area there are) decades of harmful substances including arsenic, mercury and petroleum byproducts....

It's so bad, that the state now has put a restriction on using the water there.  In fact, vapors from underground could leak into the buildings that they put there.  LOVELY.

This got me to thinking.  Aren't they supposed to put hotels in the area?  Wouldn't that make you wonder when you go to the ice machine down the hall late at nite to fill up the bucket?

Actually, the water might come in handy.  You could use it to remove stubborn stains on the carpets and clean the toilets!

Seriously though, this is starting to sound like the Love Canal debacle in Niagra Falls  from years ago.  Wow - I don't want to put the cabash on this project, but doesn't this give you the heebee jeebies?  Would love to know what you think!  I'm thinking this whole PROJECT might be a roll of the dice!
