Congratulations to a very deserving Richie Phillips for being honored with the 2013 Friend of the Academy for Character Education Award for his leadership in "furthering the character education initiative in the Capital Region!"

The award is given on behalf of the Community Advisory Board and the Educator Leadership Board at the Academy for Character Education at The Sage Colleges, which said:

You are recognized for having consistently demonstrated personal as well as civic support in such initiatives as “Reading, Writing and Rhyming,” the annual Stand Up For Character,Down With Bullying initiative, the annual Radiothon for the Center for the Disabled, the relief efforts to raise money following Hurricane Irene and most recently initiating a service learning partnership with schools from the Capital Region partnering with an elementary school in Cherry Hill, N.J. Your civic efforts model good character for the entire community.
