It's that time of the year again, the nominees have been announced for the 2012 CMA awards. For the second year in a row I want to congratulate our own Kevin Richards for being nominated for Medium Market Personality of the Year. I have worked with Kevin for 12 years now here at GNA and I know he is a very hard worker and certainly deserves this honor. Let's take home the trophy this year Kev!

Now on to the other nominations as I make my yearly predictions:

Entertainer of the Year

Jason Aldean --Scott's Pick
Kenny Chesney
Brad Paisley
Blake Shelton
Taylor Swift

This is a category that is really too tough to call. But, Jason Aldean has been on a hot streak and I think he really deserves this award.

Female Vocalist of the Year

Kelly Clarkson
Miranda Lambert -- Scott's Pick
Martina McBride
Taylor Swift
Carrie Underwood

A number of beautiful and talented ladies up for this award. I think Mrs. Blake Shelton grabs this award again, she has been on a roll as of late and she isn't stopping.

Male Vocalist of the Year

Jason Aldean--Scott's Pick
Luke Bryan
Eric Church
Blake Shelton
Keith Urban

See my Entertainer of the Year pick, same goes for this.

Vocal Group of the Year

The Band Perry--Scott's Pick
Eli Young Band
Lady Antebellum
Little Big Town
Zac Brown Band

I wouldn't be shocked by a ZBB win, but after winning a whole bunch of trophies last year and seeing them open up for Brad Paisley this summer at SPAC the Band Perry have my vote.

Vocal Duo of the Year

Big & Rich
Love and Theft
Sugarland
The Civil Wars
Thompson Square--Scott's Pick

I am a, to take a quote from Billy Fucillio, HUUUUUUGE Big & Rich fan. But TS took the ACM award in this category and have been the super hot act of all the nominees.

Best New Artist Of The Year

Lee Brice
Brantley Gilbert--Scott's Pick
Hunter Hayes
Love and Theft
Thompson Square

Brantley gives us two straight #1 hits right out of the gate, I personally feel he deserves this one the most.

Album of the Year

Luke Bryan, Tailgates and Tanlines
Eric Church, Chief--Scott's Pick
Miranda Lambert, Four the Record
Dierks Bentley, Home
Lady Antebellum, Own the Night

Just listen to "Chief", it's phenomenal! If this album doesn't win, I am writing a formal protest!

Song of the Year (Award goes to songwriters)

"Even if It Breaks Your Heart" - written by Will Hoge and Eric Paslay
"God Gave Me You" - written by Dave Barnes
"Home" - written by Dierks Bentley and Jon Randall Stewart
"Over You" - written by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton
"Springsteen" - written by Eric Church, Jeff Hyde and Ryan Tyndell--Scott's Pick

I fell in love with the song the first time I ever heard it! "Funny how a melody, sounds like a memory", truth right there!

Single of the Year (Award goes to artist and producer)

Jason Aldean, "Dirt Road Anthem"
Blake Shelton, "God Gave Me You"
Dierks Bentley, "Home"
Little Big Town, "Pontoon"
Eric Church, "Springsteen"--Scott's Pick

I see a Church sweep in the song categories!

Musical Event of the Year

"Dixie Highway," Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band
"Feel Like a Rock Star," Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw
"Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die," Willie Nelson featuring Snoop Dogg, Kris Kristofferson and Jamey Johnson
"Safe and Sound," Taylor Swift featuring the Civil Wars
"Stuck on You," Lionel Richie and Darius Rucker--Scott's Pick

Two soulful voices getting together to sing a classic, It gets my vote!

Music Video of the Year

Eric Church, "Springsteen"
Kenny Chesney, "Come Over"
Miranda Lambert, "Over You"
Little Big Town, "Pontoon"
Toby Keith, "Red Solo Cup"--Scott's Pick

One of the most hilarious videos of all time, I can't help but pick this one.
