WGNA’s Battle of the Bands – Whiskey City
WGNA presents The Battle of the Bands at Vapor in Saratoga Casino and Raceway on Thursday, November 14, 2013.
Meet Whiskey City!
Your Name: Randy Cormier
Title: Lead Vocal/Acoustic Guitar/Songwriter
Q: Who are the members of your band and where are they from?
A: Tim Sears-Dalton MA, Jason Webster-Adams MA, Beth Maturevich Pittsfield MA, Frank Algerio Pittsfield MA, Dale Zavatter Pittsfield MA
Q: How and when did the group come together?
A: Three years ago I was just getting finished with my previous band and had been listening to modern country for a while. I put out a post on FB asking if there would be interest for country music in our area. My news feed lite up and in a week I had the band ready to start rehearsals.
Q: What do you consider as your group's career highlight?
A: Warming up for Brett Eldredge at a theatre in Berkshire Country, then him coming to the after party show and singing the whole night with us! Very cool experience…he and his band were class acts!
Q: How would you describe your bands sound and image?
A: We are a high energy, harmony heavy modern Country-Rock band. We write similar to what is coming out of Nashville, our influences lend to our edgy country sound of todays top country artists.
Q: How did your group decide on it's name?
A: I came up with the name simply by going over names in my head. I pictured a bottles of Jack and Southern Comfort as high rise buildings in a City…hence Whiskey City…maybe that could be our next T-Shirt!
