We recently asked WGNA listeners to honor Albany area vets.  We'd like to take a moment to say thank you to the following Veterans as we salute Veteran's Day 2012.

Amy Clausen-Smith My husband, Matt Smith, and I are from Saratoga - we were married there this June, and will be returning when I graduate from Oswego in August. He is 100% disabled from service during OIF/OEF.

Doug Bailey Kevin, please add my dad Kendall Bailey and my uncle Sid Gallant to your list.

Michael Christopher Garvey My dad died when I was 13 but he was a disabled vet from the first Gulf war. His name was is C. Bud Kelly gave us kids our values and beliefs. He and I woke up Sunday morning to listen to your program. We started to listened when I was a young boy and listened up to the day he died. Dad was in the Army last rank was Sergeant First Class.

Ronda Fusco Please mention my boyfriend on the Local Veteran's day honors on Sunday Morning.  John Thomas Alverson-Petty Officer Second Class United States Navy 1988-1993. Did two tours, Desert Shield & Desert Storm.

Peggy Trzaskos My brother: Donald Loucks: United States Marine Corps served in Vietnam My brother in law: Phillip Van Heusen United States Air Force His son, my nephew: Matthew W. Van Heusen United States Marine Corps Also want to honor my cousin's son, Justin Loucks, United States Marie Corps, serving in Afghanistan for the 2nd time. He's due to come home in a few weeks.

John Lepine All the 941 members of the American Legion, Mohawk Post-1450 in Halfmoon, NY. They have all actually Served during a time of War from WWII to present and represent every branch of the Military. They also continue to serve their country through active volunteerism and promoting solid American Values & Patriotism.

Debbie Shoemaker My husband, Frank H. Shoemaker, III is a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He continues to serve in the Air National Guard as a Master Sergant.  He currently is in NYC helping with Hurracaine Sandy relief.  We live in Poestenkill, NY.

Debbie Riggi I wish to include my boyfriend James F. Lawrence.  He put 21 yrs in the army and retired .  He was stationed in Germany a few times.  He is very proud of his military career as I am.....He is now 58 yrs old and still working full time.... in Albany. I am very proud as my two sons currently serve.... My oldest is 32 yrs old and is a captain in the army and my youngest is 26 and is a Staff Sgt in the army.   they both joined in 2004 after 911 and within two weeks of each other...... They have stuck together as brothers in life and brothers in the military..... so my Pride also runs very deep. I'd like to salute James F. Lawrence served 21 yrs US ARMY, Ronald Riggi currently Serving US ARMY, Douglas J Riggi  Currently Serving US ARMY Donald Lawrence US AIR FORCE VETERAN  Larry Lawrence US ARMY VETERAN.
