Washington County Creates a ‘Safe Zone’ For Online Transactions
I love this.
You always hear stories about people getting robbed or worse when they go to meet someone to buy or sell something from an online source like Craigslist or Facebook. It makes you wonder why in the world anyone would even bother but hey a great deal is a great deal. So where can you go to make sure that when you meet the buyer or seller you know you will be safe. Te Washington County Sheriff's Department have come up with a pretty good place: the county jail parking lot.
While there wont be officers there to witness or oversee the transactions the area will be equipped with high definition security cameras which will record the transaction and the parties involved.
According to an story by News Channel 13, you will not have to set up an appointment and the "safe zone" will be up and running by the end of this month.
