I am always in awe when I go to visit the Saratoga National Cemetery. My grandfather and grandmother Cavotta are both buried there. My grandfather served in the Navy during World War II. When we had their funerals, it was such an amazing tribute and a touching ceremony.

In honor of Memorial Day and to honor our veterans, local veteran groups need your help.

Volunteers are needed to help place flags at selected sections of the Saratoga National Cemetery on Memorial Day weekend. If interested, you are asked to arrive on Saturday, May 27th at 7:30 in the morning. There will be a brief ceremony before at the flag pole and the placement should last about an hour.  Operation Adopt A Soldier and Blue Star Mothers are both sponsoring this event.
