It is far from a sure thing. However the discussions are on the table. The first thing that would need to happen to make this a viable possibility is for New York State voters to approve a amendment to New York's constitution allowing full blown A-Z casinos to be allowed on non-Indian lands in the state. One of the areas that would be in the "can happen" zone if the amendment is approved is the Capital Region. New York City would have to wait 7 years before they could open casinos under the proposed amendments. I'm sure a lot will be watching this vote and casting a ballot.
