In my other blog, I told you about the part of our vacation in Lake George. After we left Lake George, we decided to head a little farther north, into The Adirondacks. This time, we went to Lake Placid. Just like Lake George, it’s far enough away where you can go for the day or spend a few days, and. it doesn’t have to cost you a ton of money. There are plenty of affordable places to eat and sleep.

One of the cool things is the Olympic Center. Lake Placid is known for winter sports, and even the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics have been held there. When we were there, they were getting ready for the Ironman Competition. Looking down the main street, it had a little bit of a European look to it.

Our hotel, “Wildwood on the Lake,” was a beautiful place, and definitely on the lake. We even took a paddle boat for a ride. We can’t wait to go again.

One thing we noticed, was in a lot of restaurants, you weren't allowed to use your cell phone. This made a very relaxing atmosphere for dinner.
