Updated - Dec. 5 at 6:00 a.m. - One man has been arrested for at least one of the two robberies. 29-year-old Daniel Pabon has been arrested for the robbery of Upstate Electronics on Market Street, on December 3. In the story that I saw on from News 10 ABC, Pabon has been charged with Robbery In The Third Degree. He’s also been charged with Assault In The Third Degree for allegedly assaulting the clerk in the store.

Authorities got a search warrant for Pabon’s home. They discovered evidence that led to Pabon’s arrest. Amsterdam Police are still looking into the December 2 robbery of  the Suman Convenience Store, and asking for the public’s help, and to contact them at 518-842-1100.

In a story from News 10 ABC, the first robbery took place at the Riverfront Center, at the Suman Convenient Store, just after 7:00 p.m., Monday. A man, who allegedly had a hand gunwent into the store and demanded cigarettes, and cash from the register.

The second robbery happened about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Upstate Electronics, which is on Market Street. The clerk was allegedly threatened by a man that walked in, showed him a knife and demanded money. The clerk handed over the money, but also received a cut on his hand. He went to St. Mary’s Hospital for that injury.

Authorities aren’t sure if the same person robbed both places, and are conducting an investigation. If anyone has any information that could be helpful about the robberies, please give The Amsterdam Police Department a call at 518-842-1100
